Categories which may be covered.
- Scissor type work platform.
- Self propelled type work platform.
- Van mounted work platform.
- Truck mounted work platform.
- Trailer Lifts.
Format
Although courses usually start at 09:30 hrs, times can be adjusted to suit where for example, trainees are travelling from further afield. During the period, an enrolement form must be completed and the theory is addressed i.e. – Health and Safety Legislation and an outline of the relevant machines.
Trainees are then introduced to their respective machines and taken over pre-start checks, the various controls and their function tests and accompany the instructor who takes the machine through it’s parameters. Trainees will now have the confidence to operate individually and will be expected to complete certain set tasks for assessment. Question & Answer sessions are encouraged throughout the entire course.
The duration of the course is dictated by three things:
- Number of trainees.
- Number of categories.
- Trainee’s previous experience.
Over the years we have catered for customers who request on-site training. This is an option, however the restriction is often the equipment available for tuition. At our in-house course, we do every type of MEWP at the disposal of each trainee, which is an advantage for those requiring more than one category.
Certification
On successful completion of any course, each trainee is presented with an A4 Wall Certificate and a wallet sized laminate to be carried by the operator. Our certificate is valid for a period of three years.
To renew, we require two recent passport sized photographs per person, along with the current administration charges (€25 & VAT per person at present). This will then run for another period of three years.
On completion of this each person needs to attend a refresher course.N.B. – Courses are run, rain or shine! Although we have an amount of wet weather gear, it is advisable to come prepared. Safety harnesses are available but not mandatory, following the H.S.A. guidelines. Each trainee must provide 2 passport sized photographs to complete same day certification.
